Mr Cagliarini applies his broad-based experience to everything from defining
the overall IT architecture and strategy of the Group, to ensuring its
infrastructure and application systems are operating to optimum standards
and meeting confirmed service level agreements, to managing the Group's
total IT budget, to overseeing in the implementation of Group Business
Projects.
Appointed to the post in 2005, Mr Cagliarini developed his specialist
skills in strategy, finance, operations, technology and people management
through a sterling career in both the private and public sectors, in Hong
Kong and in his home country, Australia. Mr Cagliarini's career includes
being a senior executive in a leading consultancy firm and also one of
the largest insurance groups in the world, during which he managed numerous
multimillion US dollar projects covering a wide range of services and
industry sectors. He has also worked as a Senior Policy Advisor with the
Department of Health and an Economist with the Department of Treasury
and Finance under the Government of Victoria. Among his achievements in
those capacities, he devised and implemented the Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI) strategy for the state, and helped transform the funding model for
the state's health care system.
Mr Cagliarini has a Bachelor of Economics degree from Monash University
(Aust) and is a member of the IT Committee of the Australian Chamber of
Commerce in Hong Kong.
